Christmas at Saint Cols - 2021 Outdoor Event

Celebrating Christmas is a tradition we love at Saint Cols, and this year is no different. Santa’s elves have reimagined it and we hope you will join the celebrations. There are opportunities to give and receive; join in as much as you can! The next three weeks will be busy at Saint Cols as we celebrate the season. Events are outside, so dress for the weather! Many thanks to Peggy Wollman, Nicole Quiroga and Jenny Mileski for chairing this year’s events!

Christmas at Saint Cols, Saturday, December 4, 2021

Join the whole school community for a fun morning celebrating Christmas. Have your family picture with Santa, purchase delicious homemade baked goods at Santa’s Bakeshop, play games in Santa’s backyard, and vote for your favorite cookie in our Cookie Contest.  The winner will receive a beautiful Saint Cols cookie platter and wooden spoon. We will also be raffling off Mrs. Claus’ baskets, called our cup raffles, so plan on purchasing a few tickets. Saint Cols gifts, as well as Mrs. Claus’ wreaths, will be available for pickup and if inventory allows will be available to purchase.  Santa’s elves tell us his sleigh should touch down at 9:30 a.m. and will be back up in the air at 11:45 a.m. so plan accordingly.

Santa’s Bakeshop

This year, we're reimagining Santa's Bakeshop (the beloved "cookie room") into a traditional bake sale. We know folks who have been around awhile will miss the $5 bag and glove, but to keep us all safe as we head into the holidays, we had to make some changes. You will still be able to buy the delicious baked goods you're craving, but they will be packaged and priced a little differently this year. See the Santa's Bakeshop and Cookie Contest flyers below for details.

Remember: Santa’s Bakeshop is CASH only.

Giving Tree: Donations due by Friday, December 10, 2021

We want to be sure all of our Saint Cols families have gifts to open on Christmas morning. In prior years, actual gifts were purchased, donated and wrapped. This year, we are collecting gift cards from Target, Stop and Shop and Amazon to share with families that need a little support this year. Please stop by the Giving Tree to pick up a tag or donate online so we may purchase the gift cards. A flyer with additional information is included below.

Nativity Performance: December 14, 2021 at 6:00pm, rain date December 16, 2021

The Nativity Performance, formerly called the Cantata, began in 1907. One of our most beautiful traditions will take place outside this year! On Tuesday, December 14, with a rain date of Thursday, December 16, this 114-year-old tradition will be held outside at 6 p.m. Grades 1 through 8 perform Christmas songs, and the eighth graders retell the story of the Nativity at this beautiful event.

Teacher and Staff Gift Fund:  Donations due by Friday, December 17, 2021

During the Christmas season, we know many of you want to honor all the awesome teachers and staff at Saint Cols who help our children learn and grow each day, especially during these challenging times. The Teacher and Staff Gift Fund is the school's preferred vehicle for giving Christmas gifts to the staff. It allows the “specials” teachers and support staff to receive Christmas gifts in addition to the homeroom teachers. This gift, as always, is totally optional. Donations are due by Friday, December 17 via this link or via check mailed to the school office at 25 Arlington Street, made out to “STCPS” with “STCPS Teacher Fund” in the memo line, attention Lavinia Ifrim.
