BC Softball Team Volunteers with STCPS PE Classes

Members of the Boston College women’s softball team are teaming up with Saint Cols’ PE teacher Ms. Baker this winter. The student athletes are volunteering at the school with the organization Athletes for Hope, through STCPS parent and Vice President of the organization, Chris Wyttenbach.

On the first day, members of the softball team participated in a volleyball clinic with elementary students in the gym as part of the PE curriculum. They’ll be back in January for additional PE classes with other students at Saint Cols.

"Athletes for Hope is proud to help the Boston College Women's Softball team give back to a great school like Saint Columbkille," says Wyttenbach. "Promoting physical fitness and leadership development is extremely important to the team, and they look forward to consistent visits thoughout the spring semester."

Athletes for Hope is a non-profit organization that aims to educate amateur, college, professional and retired athletes on their potential to make a positive impact on the world, connect them with the causes they care about, and inspire others to do the same. The organization was founded in 2007 by a group of elite athletes, including Muhammad Ali, Mia Hamm, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Jeff Gordon, Andre Agassi, Warwick Dunn and Alonzo Mourning, among others.
