Loyola Academy Honors September “Loyola Leaders of the Month”

Grade 6 student Mingfang (Regina) Qu, Grade 7 student Camilla (Cami) Potts and Grade 8 student Johnathan (Johnny) Mendizabal were named September “Loyola Leaders of the Month” (LLM), a program implemented to promote self-awareness, practice the Jesuit philosophy, and develop a greater sense of community among the middle school community.

Regina Qu is our first 6th Grade Loyola Leader,” says Loyola teacher Ms. Foley-Holmes. “Her positive attitude and enthusiasm, as well as her kindness to her classmates demonstrates the Jesuit value of Magis. She has made an effort to excel in every class, and we are thrilled that she is such a role model for her peers!

Cami is a new student at Saint Columbkille and has already demonstrated leadership in Loyola Academy through her positive attitude and determined work ethic,” says Loyola teacher Mr. DeVito. “She is friendly and respectful, qualities that have helped her form many new friendships during the first month of school. Cami pushes herself to achieve at a high level in the classroom, never satisfied with only the bare minimum. Cami has exemplified the Ignatian value of Magis with her excellent performance this month.”

Johnny has been selected as the Loyola Leader of the Month for September because he has started 8th grade with a positive attitude and has demonstrated the Jesuit value of Magis,” says Loyola teacher Mrs. Fonte. “Johnny has made every effort to go above and beyond in all of his classes. He strives to always do his best work, and acts as a role model for others.

Each month, a student from each grade who have distinguished themselves and exemplify the two core values of Loyola Academy (“Magis” and “Women and men for and with others”) are recognized by the Loyola Academy team. Students also have the opportunity to submit votes for their peers who they feel have shown great strides in becoming a leader in our community.
