Saint Columbkille Partnership School Receives $4,000 Through Cambridge Savings Bank’s “3’s for a Cause” Program

Saint Columbkille Partnership School is grateful to have been selected as the 2026 recipient of Cambridge Savings Bank’s “3’s for a Cause” initiative in partnership with Boston College men’s basketball.

Through this program, Cambridge Savings Bank pledged to donate $10 for every three-point basket made by the Boston College men’s basketball team during the season. Thanks to the Eagles’ three-point shooting, the initiative resulted in a $4,000 gift to Saint Columbkille Partnership School.

The program highlights the power of community partnerships and supports Saint Columbkille’s mission to provide a high-quality education for students and families in Brighton and the surrounding communities. It is one example of the impact of the Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation, which since 2003 has awarded more than $17.5 million in grants supporting human services, affordable housing, and community development across the region.

On Saturday, March 7, representatives from Saint Columbkille Partnership School were honored at center court during Boston College’s final home game of the season against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's basketball team, where the $4,000 check was presented.

Thanks to the generosity of Boston College’s Eagles Care program, the school was also able to secure 75 additional tickets for STCPS families to attend the game. For some students and families, it was their first time experiencing a college basketball game. Families enjoyed cheering on the Eagles as they secured the win and had the opportunity to meet Baldwin the Eagle!

First grader Roman shared his excitement: “It was fun because Saint Columbkille got $4,000 because BC scored lots of three-pointers, which we can use to help our school. I was so excited to sit where the ice hockey players sit.”

Seventh grader Fiona added, “The basketball game was really fun. It was really cool seeing all the players live. We got to sit right near the court with a friend or a buddy, and my buddy got to hold a basketball from the game, which I thought was amazing.”

Saint Columbkille Partnership School is deeply grateful for the partnership and generosity of Cambridge Savings Bank and Boston College, whose support continues to strengthen opportunities for students and families in our community.
