Saint Columbkille Partnership School Celebrates Successful 16th Annual BC Race to Educate

Saint Columbkille Partnership School hosted its 16th Annual BC Race to Educate on Saturday, April 25, at Boston College’s Alumni Stadium. As the school’s largest fundraiser of the year, the event raised over $230,000 and welcomed nearly 1,000 runners.

The day began with the youngest participants competing in the 50-yard dash for children ages 4 and under, followed by two 1K races for ages 5–7 and 8–11. Opening ceremonies featured a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem performed by the student choir alongside the Boston College ROTC Color Guard before the start of the 5K race.

Whether participants crossed the finish line in 17 minutes or enjoyed a leisurely walk around the course, the day was filled with excitement, school spirit, and community pride. Families, alumni, friends, and supporters gathered on Boston College’s campus to celebrate and support Saint Columbkille Partnership School. Special guests included Mighty the Dove, Baldwin the Eagle, and Boston College student-athletes.

Fourth grader Corky, winner of the male 9–12 age group in the 5K, finished with an impressive time of 22:15. Reflecting on the experience, he shared, “It’s not every day you get to run a race. I was very happy to come in first place and also raise money for Saint Cols.”

The success of the event was made possible through the generosity of more than 60 sponsors and numerous in-kind donations from local businesses. A complete list of sponsors can be found here. The race also highlighted the strong and enduring partnership between Saint Columbkille Partnership School, Boston College, and the broader community.

Emily Fonte, Executive Director of Development at Saint Columbkille Partnership School, shared, “The BC Race to Educate is such a powerful example of what makes the Saint Columbkille community so special. Seeing families, alumni, sponsors, and friends come together in support of our students was incredibly meaningful, and the impact of this event will be felt throughout our school community.”

The school extends special thanks to all the volunteers, as well as the Boston College Police Department, the Office of Governmental and Community Affairs, and the Boston College Athletic Administration for their support in making the event possible.

Congratulations to all of the runners, volunteers, sponsors, and fundraisers whose generosity and enthusiasm will continue to support financial aid and programs for Saint Columbkille Partnership School students.
