Family Engagement

Saint Columbkille Partnership School strongly believes that for a child's optimal education there must be a trusting, collaborative and working relationship between the home and the school.

Saint Columbkille Partnership School believes family involvement and volunteering increases student achievement, behavior and self-esteem. The school benefits from your talent, time and effort and you, the parent, provide a very important community service for your children and their peers. There are many opportunities to engage with the school, from volunteering and serving on committees, to attending parent coffees, participating in school fundraisers and following us on social media.

Typical volunteer opportunities include Christmas at Saint Cols, Restaurant Fundraisers, BC Race to Educate, the Book Fair, Holiday Lunches, the Multicultural Potluck and Field Day. All positions are filled on a first come, first served basis. Some people are unable to work the day of the events, and those volunteers can get involved with event preparations leading up to an event. Some pre-event tasks include picking up miscellaneous items, shopping, copying, distributing flyers, cutting and stapling raffle tickets and stuffing envelopes, among others.

For those who volunteer with the school, families are recognized through the Family Service Program. For the 2021-2022 school year, families who complete 15 Family Service Hours or more will receive a $300 credit per family towards the following year’s tuition. Learn how to enter family service hours here.
