High School Placement

At Saint Columbkille, we take pride in our graduates. We provide Grade 8 Loyola Academy students with hands-on support and guidance in order to be successful as they apply for high school.
 
Loyola Academy teachers and the Student Support Coordinator work closely with our eighth-grade students to support them in the high school application process. We coordinate with private/independent schools around Boston to have their admissions representatives come to our school to meet with Grade 8 students to share information and admissions requirements and answer any questions.
 

Time is given to eighth-grade students during the first few months of the school year to understand how to start online applications for high school, as well as a calendar of dates and deadlines to complete their high school applications. Further, students receive assistance with their application essay questions and administrators make sure they are signed up for the correct placement tests.

Loyola Academy administrators, teachers and the Student Support Coordinator get to know each student on an academic and personal level, and are able to write in-depth and dynamic letters of recommendation for English/Language Arts and Math. Additionally, school reports and transcript information are compiled as part of each student’s high school application.
