Girls Field Hockey Off to a Great Start

Q: Tell us about this season's field hockey team.
A. Coach Kiara Zani: Field hockey season is in full swing and we are having a blast! We have 17 girls on our roster ranging from Grades 4-8.

Q. Where do you practice?
A. Coach Zani: Coach Jen Krauthoff put in a lot of work for us over the summer and we are able to use the same field hockey facilities as the Simmons University Sharks. Our girls are really benefiting from using a high-quality, field hockey-specific practice space.

Q. Why is this season off to a great start?
A. Coach Zani: It is wonderful to see the camaraderie building between the elementary and Loyola players. We have some players who are experienced at the sport and who have been incredibly helpful in guiding the learning and skills building for our newer players.

Q. What's coming up for the team this fall?
A. Coach Zani: We look forward to our Youth Field Hockey Night with Simmons on Wednesday, October 18. Our students will warm-up with the team before their game. Then, the girls will partner up with a college player for the traditional pre-game walk-out and National Anthem. Afterwards, we will stick around to cheer on the team at their game! The game starts at 5 p.m. and tickets are free so all are welcome!
